Welded pipes
Welded stainless steel pipes are designed for both outdoor and indoor use. They are mainly used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in construction and catering establishments.
Welded pipes with a pickled surface finish can also be used in metalworking. However, they are not suitable for transporting gas and other expanding substances.

How are welded pipes made?
They are made from rolled steel strip using a cold or hot method. The strip is rolled into a pipe shape and then welded on a welding machine. The resulting weld is double-sided and must have the same strength as the base material.
Because welded stainless steel pipes are treated against corrosion, you can use them outdoors without worry, but from time to time you may encounter local types of corrosion in various specific environments:
• crevice corrosion
• pitting corrosion
• intergranular corrosion
• stress corrosion cracking
Stainless steel pipes are available in several different diameters and wall thicknesses.
